Rob Sousa, Principal
Welcome to Temecula Middle School. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be the educational leader of this outstanding school. So that you may know a little about your child's principal, I have included a short bio. I grew up in San Diego, and was slated to follow in my father's footsteps by becoming a commercial tuna fisherman. While attending college at the University of San Diego where I earned my BA in English, I served in a high school youth program and discovered that my passion was to be involved with kids. After college, I moved to Riverside County in 1989 and began teaching seventh and eighth grade English in Moreno Valley. In 1992, I earned my MA in Education Administration from Azusa Pacific University. In addition to teaching, I coached high school girl's softball. I was hired in 1997 as the assistant principal at Vail Ranch Middle School, and in 2002, I moved over to Temecula Middle School as Principal. My wife and I have been married since 1989, and we have two children. In my free time, I regularly enjoy playing basketball and racquetball and following my two favorite sports teams-the Chargers and Padres. As often as I am able in the summertime, I delight in serving in Uganda, Africa. I look forward to working with you in the coming school year.
Cindy Sparks, Assistant Principal
I feel privileged to be a part of Temecula Middle School! Working in such a wonderful community, with our outstanding staff, is truly an honor. After earning my B.A. at California State University, Long Beach, I moved to Arizona where I taught high school English for several years. In 1994, I earned my Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling at Arizona State University. Shortly thereafter, I moved out of the classroom into a middle school counseling position. In 1999, I decided it was time to move back home to Southern California, and I landed in Temecula. I spent six years in the counseling office at Day Middle School prior to becoming an assistant principal. I’m looking forward to another great year at Temecula Middle School!
