ASB stands for Associated Student Body. We are a group of students working together to organize and maintain our school's funds and activities. Working with our advisor, Ms. Pulsipher, we create and advertise school spirit days and dances. We work hard to earn money for our school by creating fundraisers and working them.
We are proud of our school and are here to show TMS pride.
Each time a student earns a 100% on any test in participating classes, the student will receive a BLUE BOBCAT P.R.I.D.E. coupon to turn into the BOBCAT Box in the Media Center. Once a month, there will be a drawing from all collected coupons. There will be 3 winners, with each winner receiving a gift certificate. All other slips are added to a display in the hallway outside the Media Center.
To acknowledge and award students that have no absences or tardies for an entire month. (Gift certificate for restaurants, front of the line lunch pass, etc.) Names will be added throughout the year on a display in the hallway outside the Media Center.
Bobcat of the Month
Each month, every teacher will nominate one student as “Bobcat of the Month” to Grade Level Representatives. The teacher will complete a form, including a short paragraph as to why that student should be “Bobcat of the Month”. Grade Level representatives will select one student from each grade level to be the “Bobcat of the Month.” A bulletin board will be created to display the student’s picture and month they are honored. The student will receive a certificate and award.
Each week a stuffed Bobby Bobcat is delivered to a staff member. A member of ASB will take a picture of the staff member holding Bobby Bobcat. The staff member gets to keep the stuffed Bobby Bobcat for a week and display it in their classroom. Grade Level Representatives will then nominate the next staff member to receive Bobby Bobcat the next week. Teacher’s picture with Bobby Bobcat will be added throughout the year on a display in the hallway outside the Media Center.
Open Room for Enrichment during lunch
The purpose of this program is to reach out to students who may be having a difficult time making friends here at TMS. The activity is completely up to the teacher who sings up. ASB will provide “2” students per classroom to help out.
For example, today room 403 is playing a book on CD, room 914 has a friendship bracelet class, and 920 has chess. That way there is a little something for everyone. The book on CD group could meet more often so that there is continuity in the story... so if you open my room for that, maybe do it for four days consecutively and then not again for four months - or maybe a teacher is only willing to do that once all year and call it quits. Then maybe someone else would do another book the next month or the next semester.
